Rules & Regulations

The SSC Board of Directors and Staff wish to make your stay in Richland Center more enjoyable by opening the CAMPGROUND ONLY at NOON on WEDNESDAY. All spaces will still be assigned on a first come-first serve basis. Site locations and numbers vary every year due to ground conditions. This makes it impossible to reserve specific sites.

If you are planning to camp with friends, please indicate a GROUP NAME as well as individual names with the number of sites needed. This will allow us to more accurately put your entire group’s camping sites in the same area at the time of check-in.

An “SSC Campground Rules & Regulations” sheet will be mailed to each person/group with confirmation papers. This form must be signed by one adult for each campsite. Please have it with you and signed at the time of check-in to help speed up the check-in process.

Please note:  There is only ONE tent/camper and ONE vehicle allowed per designated site. Visitors and/or extra vehicles may park in the campground parking lot outside of the gates. Violators will be towed at owner’s expense

Setup will open at Noon on Wednesday, the week of the concert.  Campers will be provided with a garbage bag and local information at the time of check-in. Takedown MUST be completed by Sunday at 12:00 noon.  Please see that the garbage is disposed of in the provided dumpsters and recycling bins.  Many thanks for all the previous efforts.  RV dumping is also available at the City Wastewater Treatment Plant on South Orange Street  (Highway 14).

Quiet time after 12:00 midnight.  PLEASE be courteous to your neighbors.

We do have a generator area, but we need your help. Please indicate if you will be using one when you register, so that adequate generator sites will be available. If planning to camp along side generator friends, you must register for the generator area. Please park your generator so as not to disturb your neighbors and if possible, try to provide some type of sound barricade.

Camping Passes and Vehicle Information:

A camping pass will be provided for you when entering the camping area.  Please display the pass in your vehicle in plain site.  Only those vehicles with a pass will be allowed in the campground.  ONLY ONE VEHICLE PER CAMP SITE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK IN THE CAMPING AREA.  Speed limits of 5 MPH will be enforced at the campground.

City / Park Ordinances:

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED IN THE ENTIRE PARK AREA.  No food or beverage carry-ins are allowed in the concert area.  No ATV’s, fireworks, or weapons are allowed in the entire campground areas or at the festival areas.  NO GROUND FIRES will be allowed at any time.  We ask that you are very careful when grilling.  Look for the “HOT COALS ONLY” barrels for disposing extinguished hot coals.  Please do not use these barrels for trash.

Pets are not allowed at North Park campground, the festival grounds, or the concert area.

Quiet Times with Lights Out: 12:30am - 7:00am

Uniformed security will be on patrol in the campgrounds during quiet times.  Loud parties WILL NOT be tolerated at any time.  Please respect your neighbors and see that your activities are not disruptive to others.  Star Spangled Celebration Committee reserves the right to eject anyone that is disruptive to others, or their property, without refund.  WE ENFORCE A NO TOLERANCE POLICY.

Pay Phones / Emergency Phone Number and General Questions and Concerns:

There is a pay phone available at the shelter at North Park.  Other pay phones are available on the festival grounds.  In case of an emergency, dial 911.  General questions and concerns, please reach the SSC office at 608-647-5155 or 1-800-375-0876.

Warm showers will be available at the swimming pool in Krouskop Park between the hours of 7-10 a.m. each morning.  Shower tokens can be purchased for $1.00 each at the pool.  Swim passes are also available at the pool during pool hours:  Thurs and Fri: 10-12 noon, 1-5 pm, & 6-8:30 pm.    Sat and Sun:  1-5 & 6-8:30 pm. -- Please be clean and courteous when using the pool and shower facilities.

We’re happy to have you and want your experience at SSC to be safe and enjoyable.  We promote the fact that we offer affordable family entertainment.  We’re always open to suggestions. When everyone abides by the camping rules, families will enjoy coming to SSC for years to come.
SSC, Inc., it’s Board, Promoters, Sponsors, Staff, Park Board, and all others associated with the festival, cannot be held responsible for injury, theft, loss, or damage, which may occur during the festival.  They assume no liability.
