WOW!  What a great concert!  Thanks to all of you - the sponsors, volunteers and fans for making SSC 2008 a success!  For the most part the weather cooperated and your cooperation helped us keep everyone safe and get the park re-opened quickly.  It won’t be long until we start planning for SSC 2009.  We’ll see you there—-

We have great news for SSC campers who camp at North Park - the park is dry!  We will have camping.  If you have not already made your reservation, you can do so by calling the office, or ordering on-line (the on-line function will be back up and running later today).  Any orders that come in this evening or any time after up until concert-time can be picked up at the Ticket Booth Will-Call at the festival.   We have a great line-up and we are looking forward to seeing you!!!

The sun is shining in Richland Center today, and the forecast is more favorable for the next few days.  We are keeping an eye on conditions in the park and will keep you updated.   Meanwhile, we are compiling a waiting list for camping reservations, you can add your name by sending an email to starman@mwt.net.  Thanks for your patience.

We regret that we temporarily not taking camping reservations for Star Spangled Celebration 2008 at the North Park Campground.  Richland County was hit with torrential rains over the weekend that once again resulted in major flooding, similar to the flooding in August 2007.  Once the flood waters have receded, we will assess the campground.   Meanwhile, check with other campgrounds in the area for availability and if you would like your name added to a waiting list - if sites should become available -send an email to starman@mwt.net and on the subject line enter camping wait list.  We appreciate your understanding as Richland Center recovers from it’s second flood in less than one year. 

We have great news for those wishing to be VIPs for Star Spangled Celebration 2008.  We have just opened up another block of seats.  Yes, you can sit right up front!  You will  mingle with VIPs from around the country - you’ll have a great time!  We’ll provide your chair (no one else can take your seat), your refreshments and meals.  And - your gate time is one hour earlier that the rest of the crowd.  These seats sell quickly - order yours today!!

Children are most welcome at Star Spangled Celebration.  One of the things we pride ourselves on at Star Spangled Celebration is that it is affordable and family friendly.  Children 11 and under are admitted free in the general admission area when accompanied by a ticketed adult.   Camping is very affordable at SSC - RV sites are just $65 and tent sites are $50.  For the convenience of our campers, the campground opens at noon Wednesday is within walking distance of the festival grounds.  There are also private campgrounds in the area.   Our alcohol-free area of the festival grounds is completely separate from the beer garden.  Fans can only gain admittance to the beer garden by proving they are of legal age or they must be accompanied by a parent.  You can reserve your tickets and campsite on-line or by calling the office at 800-375-0876.  So - bring the kids and we will see you at SSC 2008 in June!

Lots of news about Billy Ray Cyrus on his website.  He and Miley are hosting the CMT music awards.  He will host the 6th season of Nashville Star in June.  He just wrapped up production on the movie, “Flying By” based on a song by that name from his most recent album, Home At Last.  He’s working on 2 feature films, “Bait Shop”  and “Hannah Montana”; his follow-up album; and the 3rd season of the Hannah Montana series!  AND he is coming to Star Spangled Celebration in Richland Center Saturday, June 28.
